I stepped out on the front porch the other day to breathe for a moment. Sometimes, you just need a minute, you know?
It was misting and the sun was waiting behind some thin clouds to set.
It’s usually nice to get away somewhere secluded for a bit at times like this, but it wasn’t an option this day. So, I closed my eyes and listened to the wind blowing through our neighborhood. In that moment of quiet, I realized this was the same wind that came across the ocean and the beach only a few miles away.
The clouds broke and the sun came out just long enough to cast its light through the now distant mist to make this.
I often feel as if I need to go somewhere special to clear my head, but you don’t always have to go a great distance to find wonder.
Sometimes, it’s right in your own backyard.
