About the above photo: I noticed that all overpasses in the United States have a certain brutalist aesthetic. I wondered why and then the light changed.
Thursdays are my least favorite day of the week. It’s just a difficult day for me and I usually just anticipate it being a low productivity, kinda depressing day because I’m at the house alone with Mom. Thus, I’ve got to keep an ear out while trying to get a bit of work done and have to take frequent stops for prepping meals, taking her to the bathroom, and general checking constantly.
But, tonight was glorious because my Christmas present from my wife arrived today and I got it tonight after dinner.
In case you haven’t figured out by the title; yes, it’s a Lenny Kravitz scarf. ( GIS )
So, in the way of a little background – In 2012, Lenny Kravitz went out for a stroll in NYC. It was bitterly cold, so he threw on his scarf. This scarf, like Lenny, was larger than life and it immediately went viral online.
Every November after that, the anniversary is celebrated by people posting photos on Twitter and every year I always post something to Facebook about how I really, really need to have a Lenny Kravitz scarf in my life. But, like so many other things, I just kind of resigned myself to the idea that it just was never going to happen.
That is, until tonight.
I apologize for the crappy screen caps.
It’s amazing. The woman that made it had a bit of difficulty because she had a kidney stone, but she knitted this monstrous beast while in agony. It’s huge, it’s amazing, it’s so amazingly soft. I hate cold weather, but I really want it to get chilly so I can wear this amazing thing out and about.
As if the fruit cake weren’t enough to convince me that my wife is amazing, this just pushed things over the edge. How did I get so lucky?
