“Paint a picture of an empty cage, for this bird has flown…”
My first exposure to Rez came via a musician named Claudio Nunez on a trip to an outreach at Carolina Beach’s. It was *really* different from a lot of the Christian Music I was accustomed to and Midnight Son ( the first cut off the same album where you can find the above track ) was as heavy as any other forbidden music on the radio.
It wasn’t until somewhere in college when CD’s became affordable and they started to re-issue a lot of old stuff that I was able to spend hours listening to Rainbow’s End once again and discover the depth of it all.
This, I think, is my favorite song from the album. Midnight Son was great and rang a certain frequency in me, but this one spoke to me in a deeper way.
This morning our pastor talked about how God forgives us and rewrites our story. He used the example of Sarah, Abraham’s wife, and how even though she laughed sarcastically at the idea of giving birth at such a late age in her life, she was later referred to in Hebrews as a woman of faith.
God is all about love and redemption and making our stories His. He takes our broken pieces and makes them into something beautiful.
