I’m not sure how I lived in Wilmington this long without experiencing the joy of Flaming Amy’s Churkeychanga. It was truly life changing and we went back again a couple of days later for a second round. It’s like Thanksgiving dinner wrapped up in a large tortilla, deep-fried, covered in jalapeno gravy, and served with a side of cranberry salsa. Yes, you heard me right – cranberry salsa! It sounds like it would be a really heavy meal, but it was surprisingly satisfying without making me hate myself after finishing every single delicious bite.
Who knew there could be something this freaking amazing? Sadly, it is only around for a short time before Thanksgiving, but that’s ok. If it were available every day, it would become a thing taken for granted and that, my friends, would be blasphemy of the worst sort.
If you haven’t had one yet, well, it’s too late for this year, but time flies when life is terrifying and wonderful. No doubt we will all bink and Thanksgiving 2018 will be bearing upon us like a freight train of family holiday madness. Thank the good Lord that we will have the Churkeychanga to comfort us when that time comes again.
So, to the Churkeychanga I say, “Until next year, my friend… Until next year.”
